Working with longtime client Connolly and Partners, we were commissioned to transform the historic Holy Family Schoolhouse in Rockland, Ma into 27 affordable one-bedroom apartments for seniors. The project utilized Historic Tax Credits to thoughtfully revitalize the 1965 building while preserving its architectural character.
Respecting the building's history was central to the design. The generous volumes of the original classrooms were maintained, the library was carefully repurposed, and the original chalkboards were preserved as a tribute to the school's past. The result is a welcoming residential community that seamlessly blends historic preservation with modern, affordable living.
