Ian Staber has 14 years of experience, spread between architectural design, kitchen/cabinet design, project management, and facilities management.

He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Architecture degrees from Northeastern University in 2010/2011. During undergraduate and graduate school, Ian worked as a draftsman for a small residential architecture firm in Connecticut before moving on to project management positions at Cresa, BOSE, and Harvard Real Estate Services in the greater Boston Area. Through these positions, he developed skills working closely with contractors and commercial/corporate clients, balancing ideal design concepts with realistic solutions.

After graduation, Ian moved to the mountains of Colorado, gaining experience as a custom cabinetry/kitchen designer and residential architect before moving back east 4 years later. The position at Kitchenscapes provided tremendous insight into the client-focused design world of kitchens, baths, and custom millwork projects, as well as focusing on the detail-oriented nature of cabinetry fabrication and installation. Shifting back to an architectural position at Arapahoe Architects, Ian was able to build relationships with residential developers and custom builders, working closely with homeowners to develop construction drawing, construction administration, and project management skills.

Ian moved back to Massachusetts in 2015. From 2015 to 2019, he worked for LaFreniere Architects in Cambridge. There he specialized in landlord-driven commercial tenant fit outs, hospitality and office building renovations, and new multi-family housing buildings.

Ian moved to Salem in 2018 and Seger Architects was recommended by colleagues as a great local firm to look into. Since 2019, Seger Architects has provided Ian the perfect venue to use all of his collective experience to work on a myriad of project types ranging from office fit-outs and multifamily/dormitory projects, to new restaurants and additions, and even a barn-themed carwash. Ian continues to work closely with commercial clients, developers, contractors, and homeowners to achieve balanced design solutions and manage projects with a keen attention to detail.
